About Dr. Saunders

Dr. John F. Saunders grew up in Greensboro in a dental family.  He is the son of Dr. W. L. Saunders who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's dental school and practiced dentistry here for over 40 years. In his early years of practice Dr. Saunders' mother worked as an office manager for him.   While attending dental school at UNC Chapel Hill, Dr. Saunders met his future wife who was studying to teach dental assisting. She went on to teach at UNC Chapel Hill dental assisting program.  He also has a sister-in-law that is now dental hygienist.  Dr. Saunders' son has hopes of  following in his father's footsteps and becoming a dentist.

Dr. Saunders attended UNC Chapel Hill for undergraduate studies and then went to the UNC School of Dentistry. He has been in practice for over 30 years and has been very fortunate to have a practice that feels like family.  His staff have all been with him seventeen years up to 30 years. He recently had two employees to retire that had been with him almost from the beginning of his practice.

Dr. Saunders  is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Association and the Guilford County Dental Association as well as several dental study clubs.  He is a frequent volunteer with the Mission of Mercy dental program that helps treat patients that can not afford dental treatment.

Outside of dentistry Dr. Saunders enjoys writing and has published several mystery thrillers.  Because of his writing he has become involved in the movie making business as a producer.  There are plans for his first novel to be made into a major motion picture.
